2008 CAM Relay For Life Moves To Panther Creek High School

Cary, NC, USA (SANEPR.com) April 4, 2008 -- Panther Creek High School in Cary will be the location for the 2008 American Cancer Society’s Cary/Apex/Morrisville (CAM) Relay For Life on Saturday, April 26. This year, as in the past, registered cancer survivors and caregivers will be a part of the opening ceremonies and first lap, followed by a free luncheon provided by Danny’s Bar-B-Que.

“The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is an event that is celebrated across the United States,” said David Tyree, Chair of the CAM Relay For Life. “It is an opportunity for Cary, Apex, and Morrisville citizens to come together for a great cause, to celebrate our survivors and caregivers, remember those who we have lost, and fight back for those who are suffering.”

The event will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 26 and last through 10:00 am Sunday, April 27. With less than 23 days until the relay, a total of $56,926.97 has been raised by the registered 54 teams and 624 participants. Everyone involved will save lives, help those who are touched by cancer, and empower people to fight the disease not just in Cary, Apex, and Morrisville, but all over the world.

Teams and individuals can sign up to participate or donate at www.camrelay.org. Participants can help the American Cancer Society and its lifesaving mission to prevent cancer, diminish suffering, and eliminate cancer as a major health issue by making donations and/or taking part in events like Relay For Life. By raising funds and awareness, participants can help future generations survive in a world where cancer is no longer a major health issue. At the CAM Relay For Life, there is no registration fee for cancer survivors and they are encouraged to bring their caregivers.
