40th Anniversary of the MLK Assassination A Gary Revel Commentary

Dallas, TX, USA (SANEPR.com) April 28, 2008 -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down on April 4, 1968 as he stood on the 2nd floor balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee. The City of Memphis detroyed any chance of a valid investigation when it cleared the backyard of the rooming house where it was believed that the shot had been fired from overnight. The only reliable witness, Grace Walden, identified a man who had been in the bathroom when the shot was fired by describing him to an artist and the resulting drawing closely resembles now deceased CIA Operative E. Howard Hunt. When Grace refused to say that the man was James Earl Ray she was kidnapped by the government and held in mental treatment facilities for 10 years before attorney Mark Lane finally managed her release. Later CBS News reporter Bill Stout interviewed her live-in boyfriend who also said he saw the man who had shot MLK from the bathroom window. Mr. Stout showed Stevens a picture of James Earl Ray and asked him if that was the man he saw and if that was the man he identified for the FBI. Mr. Stevens said, "No, that is not the man."

Regardless of this and other evidence that Jimmy (James Earl) Ray didn't shoot and kill MLK, he was named as the killer. He was later arrested at the Heathrow Airport in England and brought back to the US. A guilty plea was illegally presumed upon him by his attorney, Percy Foreman and the court under the direction of Judge Bill Battle. He was sentenced to 99 years in prison and died of a treatable liver disease after many years of fighting for a trial by jury and/or release in arbitrary court proceedings that failed to pursue justice in the matter.

In 1977 the US Government's House of Representative launched a fraudulent investigation into the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. The fraud involved the intent of the House Select Committee on Assassinations to dissuade anyone from believing that James Earl Ray and Lee Harvey Oswald were not the killers instead of doing a legitimate and just investigation with an intent of finding the truth and the real killers. Senator Christopher Dodd who was then a Representative in the House became a member of the committee. He should have excused himself from serving on the committee because of a conflict of interest. His dad, Senator Thomas Dodd, had been implicated to some extent as having a connection to Lee Harvey Oswald and the Mannlicher-Carcano rifle that the Warren Commission claimed was the JFK murder weapon. That and the Senator's loyalty to the businesses in Connecticut that were making many millions of dollars from the sale of weapons to the military due to the Vietnam War muddied the political waters. Ultimately this investigator found that Senator Christopher Dodd most likely was motivated by self-centered reasons to prevent the HSCA from doing it's job of finding the real killers of MLK and JFK.

On April 4, 2008 many in America were holding their breath, hoping and praying that the consciousness of America would continue to slumber in the wake of new insights into the parts played by US Government Agencies and Departments in the assassinations and cover-ups. Several State and Local Law Enforcement Departments, the FBI and the CIA have been found to be complicit in the assassinations and cover-ups and continue to use their muscle and protected status to promote their corrupt versions of the murders of MLK and JFK as well as that of Presidential Candidate Robert F. Kennedy. Most Americans are sick and tired of the lies and cover-ups by the US Government in these matters and believe that the government must come clean and take responsibility for the actions taken in the past and pledge to never kill a law-abiding American citizen in this country again on the pretext that person is a threat to National Security. Further, no government department, agency or cabinet should be allowed to aid Organized Crime in any regard with the supposition that the end justifies the means as a matter of course in fighting crime or protecting our National Security thereby. Support of Organized Crime weakens our citizens resolve to stand strong in the face of adversity and hurts the weakest and most needful of our citizens the most while being winked at by those who use it to make temporary and unsustainable gains in matters of State and the work of Human Intelligence gathering.
