4ipnet Unveils High-capacity Rack-mount HSG3200 Giga Hotspot Gateway

(SANEPR.com) May 11, 2009 -- Taipei, Taiwan - May 6, 2009 - 4ipnet, Inc., a provider of wireless network security and management products, today released its high-capacity rack-mountable HSG3200 Giga Hotspot Gateway with dual WAN / dual LAN Gigabit ports, designed for the hotspot operator to serve multiple hotspot franchises in a large-scale public area such as the airport or central station through its advanced Multi-Service-Zone feature, while each Service Zone can have its own login portal and an independent SSID. Also ideal for high-density hospitality application, HSG3200 brings in robust capabilities to securely and centrally manage and bill numerous commercial customers with tiered Internet access service offerings.

For visitor-based wireless access on demand, HSG3200 is built in with on-demand account generator and flexible billing plans. By supporting Ethernet connection to external terminal devices, cashiers or receptionists will find it easy to print out tickets/receipts via different terminals in different locations. For online payment options, HSG3200 supports self-service account purchase by credit card through Authorize.net, PayPal, or SecurePay. When the central billing has been implemented by the operator, HSG3200 also works with the existing RADIUS server. Furthermore, with HSG3200 running site-to-site VPN tunnels across different locations, hotspot venues can securely connect with one another to share the same account database.

To ensure authorized network access, the HSG3200 supports multiple authentication methods such as POP3, RADIUS, LDAP, NT Domain, and external Web (HTTP or HTTPS) authentication, all of which can run simultaneously on different networks. To optimize and maintain network uptime and performance, HSG3200 has two built-in WAN ports that support dual uplinks for load balancing and failover. Additional advanced features that help manage and support 5000 local accounts and 4000 on-demand accounts include bandwidth control, network policy enforcement, customizable user timer and login/logout page, and online traffic monitoring, etc. The "Walled Garden Advertisement List" feature gives hotspots the edge to offer extra commercial services by creating sponsor website links on user login page.

The Wi-Fi hotspot market continues to grow worldwide. According to the iPass Broadband Mobility Index, hotspots in Europe grew by 89% H1 2008 over H1 2007, while North America hotspots grew by 17% during the same period.
