Haute Africa Fashion Week (HAFW) launched its first very successful annual fashion week in June 2009. The event ran under the name of Ethnic Fashion Week and was simultaneously held with the 11th annual African Economy Forum at the Radisson Hotel located at 1241 West Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, Texas.

For 2010, HAFW is taking the show to new heights by staging a premier event. This year will truly enrich visitors with cutting edge fashion, African culture, exceed expectations and inspire travel and more business with Africa. Hollywood actress Vivica A. Fox will be hosting this phenomenal event. Haute Africa Fashion Week is scheduled to be held on February 24th – 28th 2010.

Unlike many other local and international fashion shows, intensive efforts are currently being made in showcasing fashion designers and lifestyle product manufacturers in high international standards. In addition, they will enhance the week with intensive marketing efforts. Haute Africa Fashion Week has rapidly established itself as a cost effective platform for African designers to reach out to key industry figures especially during these tough economy times, and as opportunity for buyers to snap up exceptional great and independent brands

The event line up will features, a series of luxury fashion and lifestyle events that will include Runway shows, exhibitions, shopping parties, Photo shoots by some international fashion magazines, trunk shows, a charity ball, couture fashion show and awards night, industry networking events, fashion business seminars, meetings with investors and stake holders in the United States fashion and lifestyle Industries, as well as presents World class Entertainment. Designed with an era of international sourcing and product marketing in mind, HAFW is presented as a one-stop shop for African label and product promotion perfect for business action and culture exchange.

Guests attending the event include buyers, press, journalists, Public Relations specialists, and other fashion professionals and connoisseurs. Royal families, governmental figures, fashion experts, members from worldwide trade commissions and tourism offices, top fashion designers, top models, celebrities, artist/ performers, influential leaders and international press and media, will also advocate the biggest fashion undertaking in history.

It is more of an African rebirthing in our continual adaptation of western fabric to soothe African sartorial needs while still maintaining its proud African look.
