What is affiliate program marketing? Affiliate program marketing is the process of selling other people or other company's products or services and receiving a commission for the sales you generate. Many of the world's top businesses and retail stores offer affiliate programs. Wal-Mart, Target, Amazon.com, and eBay are just a few of the many thousands out there. There are literally thousands of affiliate program marketers that make a high 6-7 figure income marketing other people's products and/or services. The greatest thing about affiliate program marketing is that you don't need a website or web design skills period.

To become an affiliate marketer you must begin with the following:

Step 1: Set up a free affiliate account with one or all of the major affiliate program rings. The top affiliate program rings are clickbank, linkshare, and CJ. These affiliate program rings are the websites that allow you to sign up as an affiliate of some of the top businesses and retailers; such as Wal-Mart, Target, and Best Buy.

Step 2: Determine what products or services you want to sell.

Step 3: Apply for the affiliate programs you're interested in. Many of the companies offer immediate approval, while some require a waiting period. Once you have applied and been approved for your affiliate programs you will need to set up your unique affiliate url's. Most of the companies; such as clickbank have an automated process, and it is virtually set up for you. Your affiliate url is exclusive to you. The link you're given is responsible for giving you credit for the sales you generate.

Step 4: Market you affiliate url's. There are several ways you can market your affiliate url's. The following are proven-examples for success.

- Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Advertising: Pay-Per-Click advertising or PPC is an advertising model that allows you to advertise on a website or search engine like Google or Yahoo! and only pay when someone clicks your ad. This is a great way for conservative-minded advertisers as well as those on a strict budget. Often times you can pay as low as .05/click. - Article Marketing: Article marketing can be your greatest assets as an affiliate marketer, but it is important to note that your articles must be unique and offer quality content. The content of your article needs to contain several uses of the keyword of the product/service you are selling.

The search engines will pick up on this, and view it as relevant information to the subject of home gym equipment and bench press machines, therefore when someone does a Google search for that keyword phrase, your article will be put up in the search results.

When submitting articles, it is important that they be published at the three main article posting sites. They are as follows: ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and associtatedcontent.com. The greatest thing about article marketing is that it is completely free. Unless of course you have to hire a writer. But even if that is the case, the cost of a writer will be well worth it when you consider the amount of commission they are going to make you.

The positive side to submitting internet classified ads is that you will get instant exposure. If you're marketing plasma screen tv's and you post ads on internet classifieds in the electronics section you're sure to get some instant hits. Especially if your affiliate program is offering a good sale.

The greatest thing about internet classified ads is that you can often times post in multiple cities, therefore getting you tons and tons of traffic. Some sites like craigslist forbid this. However, the hugely trafficked site backpage.com allows you to post in multiple cities if you pay for the ads. Typical ads only cost about 0.25. So if you advertise in 50 cities, you're only $12.50 in out of pocket advertising expenses. If you make $50 for each tv you sale, you can begin to see the huge potential in commission earnings.
