Anurag Kashyap announces Paanch (FIVE) Short Film Competition For Month

Mumbai, 20 May. Internationally acclaimed film director, producer, writer and actor Anurag Kashyap has announced his new project Paanch (Five), before leaving for Cannes Film Festival. This new initiative of Anurag is for those young Turks who wish to be part of his team and who have just started learning baby steps of film making. Interestingly, Paanch also happens to be name of his first feature film as writer director that he made way back in the beginning of the century. Remembering his days of struggle during that time, Anurag has decided to give break to as many actors, writers, directors and other technicians as possible in his soon to be made these Five short films.

Anurag Kashyap has joined hands TumBhi, a portal immensely popular among art lovers and art seekers. He says, Paanch is a sort of Short Films making contest where all the artists and technicians will be chosen from among the registered members of TumBhi. To begin with we have announced a short films writing contest. Founder of TumBhi and IT Entrepreneur L C Singh elaborated more on this. He says, As we move on to this voyage of Short Films making contest, we will also include other young talent and help them to be part of the TEAM ANURAG KASHYAP and provide them a life time opportunity to make films with him and nurture their own talent. During this exercise, Anurag Kashyap will be involved in each and every step of film making. He will himself judge the artists/technicians and their talents, will help them to improve on that and will mentor them to make themselves mould according to needs of the film industry.

TumBhi and Anurag Kashyap have joined hands to make five short films of maximum 10 minutes duration. Mr. Singh says, registered members of TumBhi can associated themselves with these short films as actor, writer, composer, and cinematographer or as any other trade of their choice. These films will not only be a show reel for the budding talents which they can show to the producers who are always looking for new and young talent but these will also be a distinctive mile stone in the beginning of their career.

Registrations for this joint venture between Anurag Kashyap and TumBhi have already started and one can upload scripts on line by logging on to the portal at www.tumbhi.com. Anybody from anywhere in the world can participate in this short films making contest,

Last date for submission has been fixed as May 30, 2011.

People who are willing to be part of these films as actors or technicians can also upload their work and portfolios on the portal.

Five selected scripts will be awarded with cash prizes and the writer will also have an option to be part of making of these films.

The scripts will be judges by a board of Jury headed by Mr. Anurag Kashyap, famous scrip writer Javed Siddiqi, Producer L C Singh and senior journalist & film maker Pankaj Shukla are other members of it.
