Apl.de.ap of the Black Eyed Peas appears on CBS Affiliated Open to Hope National Radio Show

Apl’s story of growing up in poverty in the Philippines, being adopted at the age of 14 years old through the Pearl S. Apl.de.Ap’s life took a tragic turn when his brother Arnel died by suicide. This was a heartbreaking event and Apl.de.Ap explains his life story in a song called “The Apl Song” found on the peas 2003 album Elephunk, and heard on this show. They have sold 7.5 million albums worldwide, won 3 grammy awards and had 7 grammy nominations. Apl.de.ap has recently gone on to write the song “I Cry” as a tribute to his younger brother Arnel, which was heard for the first time on Healing the Grieving Heart.
