Atlona presents Pro AV 8x8 HDMI 1.3 over CAT5/6 Matrix Switch with 8 additional HDMI local outputs

(SANEPR.com) June 8, 2009 -- Atlona Technologies is excited to announce the release of their most advanced and industrious HDMI1.3 Matrix Switcher in the market today with the AT-PROHD88M-SR. This Pro AV model is a True 8x8:2 HDMI matrix switch. Atlona’s PROHD88M-SR features eight HDMI 1.3 inputs, and eight independently switchable HDMI and Twister Pair outputs to feed eight separate displays simultaneously. This unit also has the ability of equalization, amplification and re-clocking the signal to ensure accurate HDMI signal transmission through long cables without quality loss. Each output features 1 HDMI and 2 Twisted Pair connections where both are active at the same time. Twisted Pair outputs are used to connect to the eight included receiver modules.

The Atlona 8x8:2 Matrix can be controlled though: IR Back Channel, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP (LAN) or/and supplied remote control. “We at Atlona are looking forward to making LAN control a regular installment in all upcoming Pro AV products,” says Atlona Product Manager Michael Khain. Along with the advanced control ability with LAN Control, as well as RS485 and RS232 function, Atlona’s 8X8 HDMI Switcher’s IR functions allow users to access to an additional eight HD sources such as DVD players, Blu-Ray, PS3, Xbox 360 or any other HDMI devices directly, from the location of that HD display. Including manual control, that is a total of 5 control methods for this exceptional product. Installation is quick and easy without a needed power supply.
