USA (SANEPR.com) August 26, 2008 -- BCI will serve as a Silver Sponsor in the 2008 Komen Chicago Race, scheduled to take place at the city’s lakefront on Saturday, September 27, 2008. Susan G. Komen for the Cure saves lives, empowers people, ensures quality care for all and energizes science to find the cures for breast cancer.

BCI Aircraft Leasing’s local employees, families and friends, will come together for the event, which entails a 5K Run/Walk and is expected to include as many as 10,000 participants. In addition to the company’s financial support, each individual participating on BCI’s behalf will conduct his or her own fundraising initiative at varying levels, Brian Hollnagel said.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists in the fight against breast cancer.

“A great accolade of the Race for the Cure events is that 75 percent of the net proceeds from the fund-raiser support the local metropolitan area in the form of grants for research, education and outreach,” Brian Hollnagel said. Other aviation industry partners of Susan G. Komen for the Cure include Boeing and American Airlines, with its “Miles for the Cure” program.
