Bormioli Rocco, official Slowfish sponsor

Italy (SANEPR.com) April 7, 2009 -- The partnership between Slow Food and Bormioli Rocco continues, in the spirit of regional and environmental protection. After the Salone del Gusto, the food and wine event in Turin, comes Slow Fish, the show dedicated to seafood and fish in Genoa from 17 to 21 April. The company will be an official sponsor for the 2009 edition and will provide wine glasses for the Water Laboratories and the Wine shop, while its products will also be present in the Taste Theatres section.

Pavilion B of the Trade Fair complex, right beside the sea, will house an intensive programme of encounters, conferences and food tasting events in parallel with the exhibitions. The main topics will be the Mediterranean, biodiversity, environmentally-friendly production and consumption, and the education of taste.

As well as the main commercial exhibition area, the Market, it will be well worth paying a visit to the Islands of Taste (Isole del Gusto) and the Sea Inns (Osterie del Mare), to explore regional gastronomic traditions and Slowfood specialities, with their insights into the heritage of typical regional products and processing methods. Not to be missed the Water Laboratories, dedicated to information, and the Wine shop, for tasting delicious wine-fish combinations.

In order to enhance the bouquet of the best Italian and international wine labels, Bormioli Rocco will offer gourmets its Premium wine tasting glasses. This line was developed in collaboration with the Italian Sommelier Association and has recently been completed by two new articles: Montepulciano and Rosé. The former is a wine glass dedicated to full-bodied and complex wines, while the latter is a response to the recent growing success of rosé. For drinking glasses the company has chosen to offer its Pegaso line, combining functionality with design-sense, user-friendliness with high quality materials.

Through this sponsorship Bormioli Rocco again confirms its environmentalist commitment. The company also uses energy-saving technologies and recycled materials for its packaging.
