(SANEPR.com) August 6, 2008 -- The Boys and Girls Club is alerting all South Shore families of an important “Foreclosure Prevention Workshop” that is being hosted by The New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston on Tuesday, August 12th from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gillette Stadium, Fidelity Investments Clubhouse, East at One Patriot Place in Foxboro. Parking is available at parking lot entrance P1 and is FREE.

HOPE NOW Alliance and NeighborWorks America are helping to provide this workshop opportunity. Attendees will be able to work out a plan to preserve homeownership and avoid foreclosure. Borrowers will be able to talk face to face with their lender and local housing counselors. Attendees should bring documentation of mortgage, debt, income and expenses.

FREE transportation via commuter trains will be provided to all riders who show a copy of the “Foreclosure Prevention Workshop” flyer, which may be obtained at the Boys and Girls Club located at Library Plaza in Marshfield.

This event is open to the public. For more information about the “Foreclosure Prevention Workshop”, visit www.theinformedhomebuyer.org or call 1-800-882-1600. Anyone who plans to attend the workshop should call the 800 number prior to the event to learn if their lender will be present, and leave your name and telephone number for any questions.

“Oftentimes, families in crisis don’t know where to turn. This workshop provides people who are in danger of mortgage default, the opportunity to work with their lender to devise a plan for their mortgage,” noted Greg Jackson, the club’s Executive Director.

He continued, “Those who would plan on attending the workshop should stop by the Boys and Girls Club to pick up a flyer that enables them to take advantage of free commuter train transportation that day.”
