CC Fann to appear at the National Association of Black in Criminal Justice

July 24, 2008 Wrightsville, GA—CC Fann and JABS Publications of Wrightsville, Ga., announces she will be conducting a workshop for her how-to/non-fiction manual, “Common Sense: Do not Play the Game with an Inmate.” Fann, a 14-year veteran of the Georgia Department of Corrections, unveils the taboo subject of correctional staff/inmate relationships and its dangerous consequences for not only the individual but society at large. She has observed more black staff is being walked out of the gate for personal dealings with inmate than white.
Amid allegations of staff involvement in the Brian Nichols case, Fann stresses the need for the public to be aware of the many schemes and manipulations used by inmates.
“The employee’s future and well-being should be more important than complying with the games that inmates want to play,” stated Fann. “Under the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003, correctional staff could potentially lose their jobs, respect, and freedom.”
Delivered with a direct, no-nonsense approach, “Common Sense” mixes practical advice with true stories of these forbidden relationships.
