Los Angeles, Calif, USA (SANEPR.com) February 15, 2008 -- Charles Belk, President and Chief Branding Officer of Charles Belk Management, will join other members of the film festival community on a panel to share their expertise on "Film Festival Strategies: Getting into and getting the best out of film festivals." Taking place as part of the 16th Annual Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), the panel will address those pressing questions from filmmakers such as why a film may not be selected for an important film festival or how to prepare the most attractive package for a film when submitting to festivals.
A member of the Board of Directors of both the Silver Lake Film Festival and the Downtown Film Festival - Los Angeles, Charles Belk's participation at several other national film festivals, including Sundance and Tribeca, has equipped him with a perspective of a festival organizer, attendee and filmmaker. Commenting on what message he feels is most important to filmmakers and film festival attendees, Belk said "You must have a strategy, understand what it is you are looking to accomplish - whether it is positioning yourself for future film submission, gaining awareness or distribution of your film, or networking with other filmmakers and members of the industry."
The panel will also include directors and organizers of other prominent film festivals including Asantewa Olatunji (Pan African Film Festival), Tanya Kersey (Hollywood Black Film Festival), Reinaldo Spech (African Diaspora Film Festival) and Reggie Scott (American Black Film Festival). More information on this and other panels, and a complete line-up of films screening at the 2008 PAFF can be found at www.paff.org.

About The Pan African Film and Arts Festival
The Pan African Film and Arts Festival (www.paff.org) was founded in 1992 as a non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion of cultural and racial tolerance and understanding through the exhibition of film, art and creative expression. It is the PAFFs goal to present and showcase a broad spectrum of Black creative works, particularly those that reinforce positive images and help to destroy negative stereotypes. The PAFF believes film and art can lead to better understanding and foster communication between peoples of diverse cultures, races, and lifestyles, while at the same time, serve as a vehicle to initiate dialogue on the important issues of our times.
