Kolkata. Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today did not rule out the possibility of joining hands with the Marxists and said doors of the Congress were open to everyone.

``I am not anybody to keep the doors open for anybody. There are senior people in the party and the Prime Minister who will decide.

As a general principle, Congress doors are open to everyone, including the CPI(M),`` he said during a `meet the press` programme here.

Mr Gandhi, who was accompanied by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and AICC General Secretary Keshava Rao, however, made it clear that all the discussions about post-poll alliances were hypothetical and any such move would be taken on the basis of the poll results.

``All these are hypothesis now. Discussions will take place once the results are out. Let us see what is the outcome,`` he said.

His remarks were in line with those of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Mr Mukherjee, both indicating recently that all was not over with the past bonhomie of the Left and the Congress and all the chances of both forces coming close in the number game of forming a government were not lost.

Last Tuesday, Mr Mukherjee said he did not rule out the possibility of the Congress taking support of the Left in near future, though he did not think ‘right now’ that it would be needed.
