The InterDirect network (IDN) a network of independent direct marketing agencies was formed to provide specialist help and advice on cross-border direct marketing. The network consists of 32 members from over 33 countries and in 2008 it has a total of 1500 (FTE) employees, with a total annual billing (´08) of 275 Million USD. At the conference the IDN Awards were presented to the winners. The conference attracted top notch direct marketing professionals from over 13 countries including Denmark, Holland, UK, Finland, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Austria, Romania, Khazakstan, Germany besides India.

Fredag from Norway walked away with the maximum awards winning 4 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. TMW from UK won 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze. Belgium won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. Some of the award winners here had also won at the Echo’s.
Direxions Marketing Solutions Pvt. Ltd, from India picked up a Bronze in the category – Other media/ Alternate media for the creative work done for IRIS, a school outreach programme.
The Forum also took up a case study on sourcing and sustaining donors for an UN Agency in these times of economic downturn. The attendees were formed into groups and each group was given over one and a half days to address the case including identifying the right set of donors, the creative strategies to make them give and ways to leverage new age media like DTH,DRTV, e-mail and mobile marketing for sustaining donations. The groups came out with some very innovative and powerful creative strategies to address this issue of getting donations in an economic crisis. The results will be shared with the UN Agency for implementation.
