(SANEPR.com) June 2, 2009 -- Tampa, FL (SANEPR) June 1, 2009. When Hilton management saw their Tampa hotel featured in the Florida Vacation Review website, they were afraid to read the article. As they read through the story, they found that the author had given the hotel a rave review and complimented their staff on their dedication to "doing whatever it takes!"
"Too many review sites feature negative experiences that management never has a chance to correct, because people would rather complain than speak up to someone who could help them," said Micheal Savoie in an interview. "I like to tell the good news, too!"
Management printed a few copies of the article and sent it to all the employees to read. "Our employees really do whatever it takes, they don't just wear the buttons, they practice it in everything that they do!" exclaimed Ronald Smith, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Tampa Airport Hilton Westshore. He went on to explain that upon reading the review they went through all the records of the weekend in question to see if the author, Micheal Savoie of Florida Vacation Review, the website where the article was published, had really stayed in the hotel. When they didn't see his name in the records, they called their PR agency in West Palm Beach, FL to dig up some information on Mr. Savoie.
Later on Friday afternoon, the PR company called Mr. Smith with the contact information for Micheal Savoie. Ron Smith called him and thanked him for the article and asked Mr. Savoie what the hotel could have done to improve the conference that he had attended. In Micheal's article, a couple of hints were made of things the hotel could have improved, and Mr. Smith was curious enough to contact the author directly.
After contacting Micheal Savoie about the article and thanking him for publishing it, Ron Smith told Mr. Savoie he was welcome to visit the Tampa Airport Hilton Westshore anytime, and to call the hotel to let them know when he was in town, to which Mr. Savoie replied to reporters, "Where is the fun in telling the hotels when I am in town? If they think I am there to review them, they will not treat me like any other guest!"
"Part of the magic of Florida Vacation Review is the fact that the hotels and resorts have no clue when I am in the building. I could be the guy that they just helped up the stairs with 5 suitcases, or the one that just requested a refrigerator or extra blanket. If I get special treatment, but one of my readers gets the shaft, how am I going to feel?"
Savoie told reporters that his review site is open to anyone who comes to Florida for vacation or business travel. "All they need is to have the hotel information where they stayed, so we can keep track of the winners and the runners up," he explained. "We don't want people to bash places, they need to be somewhat positive, or at least neutral... and give good points as well as bad points about the stay. After all, if a hotel is falling apart but the people are doing whatever it takes to make things enjoyable, they are winners in my book!"
The stay at the Tampa Airport Hilton Westshore was during Internet Marketing Traffic Expert Ross Goldberg's Last Internet Masters Seminar from April 16th through the 19th where Micheal Savoie put on a workshop with Goldberg called From Go To Cash Flow on the 16th and helped with the rest of the seminar throughout the weekend. During the time when he was working with Mr. Goldberg, Savoie said that the hotel staff were coming in to check on everything, "if we asked for something, it was brought in before we even realized it! The staff was the same way with the rooms. We asked for a refrigerator as we headed out to lunch and when we came back, we didn't even notice that it had been brought in and turned on!"
The Tampa Airport Hilton Westshore management thanked and congratulated their employees for a terrific job in making their guests feel appreciated! When a stellar employee is recognized, it is good news, when the entire hotel is recognized, the world needs to be told how awesome our team is!
