Free Software for Basic PDF Needs - Multilanguage Versions with up to Nine Languages Available

Bochum, Germany, February 12, 2010 -- In the field of electronic documents, nowadays PDF may definitely be characterized as the file format that constitutes a standard for digitally based communication and teamwork. This is even truer since July 2008, when PDF has been officially declared to be an ISO standard (ISO 32000-1).

COMMERCIAL USE
Perfect PDF Master 6, Perfect PDF Reader 6 and Perfect DocuReader 6 are for free for non-commercial use. Commercial use is possible, however, an e-mail should be sent to sales@softxpansion.com to get to know the details and conditions. The standard version of Perfect DocuReader 6 is free for commercial use as well, but the characteristics of this version should be considered (see below for details).

CREATE PDF FILES CONVENIENTLY
Perfect PDF Master 6 creates PDF files from within any application that allows printing documents and the selection of printers. After the installation, a new "virtual" printer entry called "soft Xpansion Perfect PDF Master 6" can be found in the list of printers. This printer is a "virtual" one since it does not print anything to paper, but redirects the print job into a file, thus converting the job into a PDF document. The file is created with just a few mouse clicks and the creation process uses predefined PDF settings. Alternatively, the settings may be made manually, for example security settings, PDF version, optimisation, font embedding, image quality or the general description (general document properties). Moreover, Perfect PDF Master 6 creates PDF/A files in compliance with the ISO 19005 standard for long-term archiving. DISPLAY PDF FILES ACCURATELY
Adobe® Reader is the standard to display PDF files. But why not use Perfect PDF Reader 6 instead? The product is worth considering since it offers the following additional possibilities: maybe most importantly, PDF forms can be saved as filled out documents. And the pages of a PDF file can be saved as separate image files (BMP, GIF, JPEG and PNG formats), with various resolution settings. Texts may also be saved, in a separate text file. Thanks to modern ribbon toolbars (like in Office 2007), the program makes the access to related functionality easier.

USE PDF TO DISPLAY HELP CONTENT AND ELECTRONIC USER MANUALS
Which tool and which file format is normally used for displaying the program help in an application? Usually, todayŽs software stores its Help content in .chm format. But .chm files potentially carry security threats and they are often blocked by security software. An alternative, the .HTML format, requires a lot of separate files (texts, images etc.). The .HLP format had been introduced with Windows 3.1®, and does not fulfil current technical requirements anymore. Besides, the HLP-Viewer "WinHlp32.exe" is not distributed with Windows Vista or 7. PDF files are a good solution, but separate reader software is required. Unfortunately, the Adobe® Reader provides no possibility to implement a context-sensitive help into an application.

The programs run on both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows® 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003 and 2000.
