GUITARIST/COMPOSER KERRY LIVGREN TO APPEAR IN FEATURE FILM ‘THE IMPOSTER’

USA (SANEPR.com) January 1, 2008 -- Livgren has been cast in a supporting role in the motion picture opposite Grammy winner Kevin Max (dcTalk), who will star in the film’s lead role of ‘Johnny C’. Filming is scheduled to commence on location in Texas in January, 2008.

According to the film’s co-producer Troy Baker, “So often we have idolized Christian Artists almost to the point of deifying them. Their humanity is lost in the limelight we so easily thrust them into. This film not only deals with the lifestyle and subsequent breakdown of ‘Johnny’, it also pulls back the curtain on the Christian Music Industry. At its very core, though, The Imposter is a story of redemption and self-discovery, and what it truly means to believe.”In his role, Mr. Livgren’s ‘Proff’ mentors the fallen Christian rock star in an attempt to help ‘Johnny C’ salvage and rebuild a life that was once perceived by others as picture perfect. After reading Millican’s moving script, Livgren decided that the time had come to take the plunge into acting. “I am a musician and composer. I never envisioned playing a role in a motion picture, yet I am very pleased to be a part of The Imposter, with its message of hope and salvation.”

Kerry Livgren penned and performed the timeless classic hits ‘Dust in the Wind’ and ‘Carry on Wayward Son’ as a member of the rock band Kansas. Four very active decades into his career in the music business, Livgren’s work includes various solo projects, collaborations with other noted musicians, and movie soundtrack work. Kerry’s current band ‘Proto-Kaw’ is now recording their third CD at his Grandyzine studio in Berryton, Kansas. The album will be released in 2008. Livgren music will also be heard in The Imposter movie soundtrack. Millican says it was a natural step to think of putting Livgren in the role. “I grew up on music and was
not only familiar with Kerry’s more famous work like ‘Dust in the Wind,’ but had enjoyed his Christian music in the late eighties with AD. While I was thinking about the role, I was watching some music videos and a cover of ‘Carry On Wayward Son’ came on and I immediately thought Kerry would be perfect in the role. Later that day, a friend and I were talking and without him even knowing, he asked if I had considered Kerry. Needless to say, I’m very excited Kerry’s agreed to do this.”
