Airless spraying of cold spray plastics with 98:2 VARIABLE system
Already in 2005 the company introduced high-pressure (airless) spraying of two-component sprayable plastics in a 98:2 proportion. "This new 98:2 technology has become so proven and established in the industry that only this is demanded," says Torsten Pape, Head of Sales and Marketing at HOFMANN. Decisive advantages of the new airless technology are:

The new technology only needs one storage container. Premixing is omitted, the hardener is fed directly in the spray gun just milliseconds before the spraying procedure and the total purging agent consumption is reduced to a fraction.

HOFMANN promptly responded to the requirements in the industry: For example, an article in the German magazine "Strassenverkehrstechnik" ([Traffic Engineering">, Issue 6/2009) was used in 2009 as an opportunity to further improve the reliable system with infinitely adjustable hardener proportion, thus satisfying the requirements in the industry.

Constant line width during travel-dependent airless spraying
HOFMANN offers a unit that automatically adjusts the distance of the spray gun to the pavement in dependence on the speed so that - after appropriate adjustment - the spraying width remains constant over a large speed range. This considerably extends the speed window for travel-dependent marking.

Accurate line lengths
For more than 25 years HOFMANN has been the only manufacturer to provide a detection unit that measures and displays the effective (actual) line length in the control system, enabling direct control of the actual distance covered, thus considerably improving the quality.

New dosing pump for highly viscous abrasive marking materials
For 30 years HOFMANN has been the sole provider of dosing pumps for liquid marking materials that exhibit a consistent feed rate - independent of viscosity and pressure. The essential components are made of metal, thus resistant against all solvents.

The new generation of pumps for highly viscous materials, such as two-component friction plastics, went into production at HOFMANN for the first time in 2009. This enables the production of accurate Type II markings of all types in distance-dependent marking mode at constant remaining quantity per square meter. Combined markings, consisting of continuous and broken lines, can be produced in one pass thanks to a doubler.

New SPOTFLEX® system for high speeds and low detergent consumption

HOFMANN was the first company on the global market in the sector of agglomerate markings. The first machine application with a compressed air pulse discharge procedure followed in 1984 (SPOTFLEX® system). HOFMANN is the leader here in the sector of Type II markings, which many manufacturers have included in their programs. HOFMANN therefore tries to expand its lead with follow-up inventions.

The result: an extremely modular system, quick change capability and fail-safe lockability of every individual spraying nozzle, minimal detergent consumption, accurate adjustability and quantity stabilization as well as an enormous increase in the application speed. With a 2 cm line distance, the new HOFMANN system can achieve speeds up to 5 km/h. An expanded system will enable even up to 10 km/h, which corresponds to 140 lines per second.
