“Integrating the Fragmented Soul” is the Focus of Why Shamanism Now? Radio Show on June 10

According to Pratt and Brennan, soul loss is caused by physical or emotional trauma, and it is a natural way for us to survive the pain of that trauma. In shamanic cultures, when soul loss is recognized, the shaman is called on to enter the invisible world, find the lost soul parts and to retrieve them. However today, the integration of retrieved soul parts doesn’t just happen by itself.

Guest Martin Brennan has integrated numerous soul parts retrieved by our host, shaman Christina Pratt, over the past 10 years. Pratt and Brennan discuss the personal healing issues that integration of soul parts address, ranging from attempted suicide, to chronic issues with intimacy, to a separation from God, and much more. Her well-received book, An Encyclopedia of Shamanism (Rosen), is an 800 page, two-volume set with over 750 in-depth entries that clearly discuss the basic concepts of shamanism, methods, and traditions of over 50 different shamanic peoples. Pratt is the founder of the Last Mask Center for Shamanic Healing in Portland, OR, and New York, NY, creator of the original Foundations of Shamanism and Shamanic Healing course at the University of Minnesota, and a frequent and honored speaker for the American Holistic Medical Association.

Martin Brennan possesses a deep commitment to helping people (including himself) remember how to feed their love, starve their fears, and live boldly, and has studied spirituality and leadership for over 20 years. These dual passions have led him to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer, work with street children in the developing world, earn an MA in Creation Spirituality from Naropa University, work as a Diversity and Leadership Trainer in corporate America, and travel to over 40 countries on six continents. Martin has also studied, practiced and instructed the principles of shamanism for the past 12 years.
