Dryer vent cleaning specialist, Keith O’Loane, spends time with every customer explaining how their dryer vent system works and why annual dryer vent cleaning is necessary to prevent fires and promote energy savings. One recent customer was having her dryer vent cleaned before shopping for a new dryer. She wanted Keith’s advice on choosing a new dryer.
Keith explained, “Gas dryers typically cost more to purchase than electric dryers; however, electric dryers cost more to operate. The appliance store should be able to provide information about the operating costs for both gas and electric dryers on the models they carry. Choose a model with energy efficient features such as automatic sensors that shut the dryer off when the laundry is dry.”
