Marriage Counseling Blog Hits First Anniversary with 365 Posts

(SANEPR.com) June 8, 2009 -- Lansing, MI -- In May of 2008, Sig Yanosway started a daily task, well more like a mission, to write about the benefits of family and marriage counseling, and to tell people about the positive aspects of having a therapist's help to heal their marriage. Since then, Sig's blog, "The Marriage Counseling Blog," has taken off as one of the top blogs in its niche. "This past 30 days we've had almost 4,000 unique visitors," said Sig. "I'm really happy so many people are getting to read my work."

Sig's interest in the field began 10 years ago, when his own marriage was having difficult problems. "My wife and I had almost lost a child. It was a very stressful time for us, and we were thinking about divorce. Luckily, we agreed to try marriage counseling first. It was a tough road, and change didn't happen overnight. We both had to take a hard look at the things we were doing that contributed to the problems in our relationship. Through marriage counseling, we learned to take our difficult problems and use them as a tool for growth. I firmly believe that our marriage is stronger than ever because of going through what we dealt with."

Sig says that therapy was such a positive experience for them, that he decided to write about it so others could hear what he had to say. "Blogging is such a great platform," says Sig. "Not only is it an easy way for me to publish my writing, but it gets my thoughts noticed, and I can make money from the advertising. I have an exclusive agreement with one of the top advertisers in that niche, and it pays nicely so I get the best of both worlds. On top of it all, people regularly thank me for my work."
