Multi-Functional Handheld OTDR from GAO

Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has announced the availability of its multi-functional optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) (GAO3620). This portable optical device is widely used in loss analysis and for determining fault points found in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks and equipment. It is compatible with CATV, ISP and telecommunication fiber networks.
The portable OTDR displays the fiber’s length, attenuation coefficient, connection point, fault point and loss distribution curve. The easy-to-use, multi-functional device conducts 50km fiber measurements in 30s with a high S/N ratio and operates in harsh environments due to its durable design. It has two markers used to zoom in and out on curve details. The reliable OTDR supports up to six different test result comparisons simultaneously while any single result is observable. It automatically searches for fault points and creates a list. The OTDR test results and event analysis lists can be printed through a print screen function which users can review on a PC. The handheld OTDR features a quick response time without the need of warm-up.
