New Jazz Choreography Enterprises Website Takes the Legwork Out of Ordering Tickets to Performances

July 30, 2008 – Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc. is delighted to announce the launching of its new website at www.jazzchoreographyenterprises.org. This new site provides information about upcoming performances and workshops and allows patrons to purchase their tickets online.

The scarcity of adequate forums for presenting original jazz choreography in New York City led to the development of Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc. (JCE) in 2007. The goal of JCE is to present choreography in a variety of jazz styles, created and performed by people of various ages and levels of experience. To that end it produces The New York Jazz Choreography Project twice a year. These shows give choreographers much needed opportunities to develop their technical skills and creativity before live audiences. And they give audiences the chance to see jazz dance as the rich art form it is, with its glorious variety of styles and cultural influences. JCE also holds workshops to educate dancers and choreographers. It has offered classes in musical theatre dance, partnering, and lyrical/contemporary jazz taught by Vic DiMonda, Alan Spaulding, and Tracie Stanfield, who are participating choreographers in The New York Jazz Choreography Project. Upcoming events include the workshop on Sept. 21st (Ballet for Jazz Dancers and Partnering and Basic Lifts) and The New York Jazz Choreography Project on Nov. 7th-9th.

The Project and the workshops have been met with enthusiastic support from choreographers, students, and patrons of the arts. Noted choreographer Robert Audy said, “Choreographing for the NY Jazz Project has been most rewarding for me as a way for me to present my students and have them experience performance presentation and utilize the training they have received and their dedication to dance."
