The unit may also be used for walkers, as it provides pedestrian routes of up to six miles that are not limited by vehicle constraints. Digital map data is supplied by NAVTEQ(R), the preeminent provider of comprehensive digital map information for automotive navigation systems.

Other features of the Nextar M3-MX includes up to 300 address storage capability for favorite destinations, SD card slot for additional memory, over-the-speed limit warning and 2D and 3D map-viewing modes. It also has the capability to play MP3 files and to display JPEG images. Power is supplied by a lightweight, built-in, rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery.

Provided accessories include: AC/DC adapter, suction cup, USB cable, protection pouch, SD card and a stylus/touch pen.
