OITE, KIF sign up to organise major international events in the region

The Memorandum of Understanding between OITE and KIF was signed by Ahmed Saleh Baabood, executive chairman of OITE and Abdul-Rahman Al-Nassar, executive director of KIF.

KIF is Kuwait’s first and largest exhibition centre that has been organising a vast assortment of trade shows and consumer events for almost 40 years on its fairgrounds. OITE, on the other hand, is a member of UFI – the global association of the exhibition industry and an ISO accredited company providing quality and successful exhibitions in Oman for over 22 years.

“OITE’s partnership with KIF is aimed to develop the company’s activities in and around the region, as well as to expand the participation of the business community, thus encourage the growth and development of the business sector”, said Ahmed Baabood, executive chairman of OITE.

According to Baabood, OITE and KIF are set to organise three major international fairs that will focus on the environment, transport and clean energy in Kuwait. OITE will take on the responsibility of promoting such events to the regional and international markets.

The first two major exhibitions will be organised at the end of 2010 while the third event will be in the first quarter of 2011. Conferences and seminars will be held concurrent to the exhibitions, aimed to address the latest research and studies relevant to the target sector.

Commenting on the new partnership, Al Nassar said “The collaboration between KIF and OITE is designed to attract visitors from the Gulf region and Arab countries. With this new initiative, we are determined to unite and expand the business community in the Arab countries, thus providing them with greater platform and excellent opportunity to make inroads into the region’s fast growing market and capitalise on their vast growth.

Given OITE’s and KIF’s solid expertise in managing trade fairs, the two parties are optimistic in achieving the targeted quality exhibitions and conferences; and attracting a large number of international participants.
