OnlineClock.net Counts Down to Fourth Year Anniversary

Berlin, Germany, March 03, 2010 -- OnlineClock.net, The popular online clock tools website, turns four years old.

Back when he got the idea for the world's first website devoted to being nothing more than an alarm clock, OnlineClock.net's creator Thomas Churm literally had to get out of bed. "It was one of those nights when I couldn't sleep and I knew that I was just killing time, laying in bed and attempting to sleep," said Mr. Churm, "...but I eventually hit upon an idea that I knew was going to be big. Very big."

This is the way the creator of the Online Alarm Clock website describes getting the original idea for OnlineClock.net.

Once the site went live, it began to live a charmed life that many website owners only dream of: it made it to page one of Digg.com, the popular website for voting on news items and stories of interest. As a result, says , the original web hoster for OnlineClock.net crashed at least four times due to the massive amounts of traffic being brought to the site.

On March 24th, 2010, OnlineClock.net celebrates its fourth year of existence. Mr. Churm states that this is a time appropriate for a little reflection back on what the site has achieved since it's become everyone's favorite internet alarm clock.

"We've grown astronomically in our first four years," states Online Clock's owner. We've gone from about 70 unique visits a day, back before we'd made it to the first page of Digg, to currently getting more than a million and a half unique visits each month."

"Of course," says Mr. Churm, "We've had to switch to a high-performance web hoster in order to cope with the bandwidth and server resources needed to make our site 100% accessible for everyone, around the clock (so to speak). In addition, we've gone from having one free online alarm clock on our website to now having a website which offers more than a dozen different alarm clocks and time tools online, including an online stopwatch, an online countdown, and various other free timers, clocks and alarm functions."

Indeed, the Online Clock website appears to have grown enormously since it originally went live just about four years ago with just the main clock that can be found at http://onlineclock.net

Who can predict how this useful time tools website will progress in another four years' time? Asked whether any big festivities or events are planned for Online Clock's fourth year anniversary, Mr. Churm humbly stated, "Not this year. We're saving the big celebration for our fifth year anniversary which is coming next year. Look for a party around the clock next year at this same time!"
