Oxley & Coward supports Whiston Parish Cricket Club

UK (SANEPR.com) June 27, 2008 -- As part of its commitment to supporting local community organisations, leading law firm Oxley & Coward of Rotherham announces its continued and increased sponsorship with Whiston Parish Church Cricket Club.

Oxley & Coward is to be the Shirt Sponsor and Match Sponsor for 8 home games during each of the 2008, 2009 and 2010 seasons. In return for the sponsorship, Oxley & Coward will receive corporate branding and advertising banners around the Whiston ground.

Peter Hedley, Practice Manager for Oxley & Coward, said: “As a local company established for over 200 years, our success has been and continues to be based on our relationships with the local community. It is highly appropriate that we should support the local community and we are delighted to assist Whiston Parish Cricket Club. We wish them every success for the remainder of 2008 and future seasons, and hope we can have a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the club.

Peter Maw, Honorary Secretary for Whiston Parish Cricket Club, said: “With all the money currently going into 20/20, you could be forgiven for thinking that cricket was awash with cash. It may be true at the top end of the sport, but at the grass roots end of the sport we are heavily reliant on donations and sponsorships of this type to maintain the ground and keep our teams playing regularly in the league.

”As sport seems to have an ever decreasing role to play in schools, local clubs like ourselves are becoming even more important in providing opportunities for young people to get involved in sport, and we have a thriving junior section that takes a lot of time and money to maintain and develop. Hence we are doubly grateful to Oxley & Coward for their support and we would like to take this opportunity to thank the firm for their investment in our local cricket club.”
