(SANEPR.com) April 9, 2008 -- Poets published in the Muses and Confidantes anthology Inspire the Planet will be featured at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City on May 15.
Joining host George Wallace at the 6:30 PM reading will be poets Laura Fay Lewis, Lori Williams, Mark Fogarty, and Muses and Confidantes founder Remy Nation, who will read poems from some of the international poets represented in the anthology.
Muses and Confidantes is an artists’ collaborative based on two websites: www.igotmuse.com and www.myspace.com/musesandconfidantes. According to Muses and Confidantes founder Nation, “Inspire the Planet
is exactly the kind of project M&C was started to pursue. It features eleven poets from three continents and shows how artistic inspiration can be channeled to spotlight creativity and to benefit humanity.”
The venue, one of the most famous spoken word clubs on the planet, is located at 308 Bowery in Manhattan. Admission is $6.
Wallace, who hosts a monthly reading at BPC on the third Thursday of each month, has performed in both the United States and England. His works include Burn My Heart in Wet Sand, When I Was Dead, and Swimming Through Water. He has also put out a CD called Moon.
Lewis is a multi-faceted artist proficient in music, art, dance, film, and acting as well as poetry. She is the lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist of the New York City band the Blisstones.
Williams is a Brooklyn based poet who has had work in The Avatar Review, Snow Monkey, Red River Review, Miller’s Pond, Fairfield Review, and other publications.
Fogarty has had poems published in Hawaii Review, Viet Nam Generation, Eclectic Literary Forum, Footwork, and others. He edited Inspire the Planet as Creative Director of Muses and Confidantes.
Nation is a movie, stage, and television actress, model, website designer and web entrepreneur. She is also a photographer, concept poet and activist for numerous causes.
