(SANEPR.com) June 2, 2009 -- San Jose, Costa Rica, May 08, 2009 -- Mac poker players are welcome on PartyPoker, an independent online poker room that ranks as the fourth largest worldwide. The Monthly Million has become the centerpiece of PartyPoker’s tournament lineup. The $640 buy-in event runs on the first Sunday of every month and guarantees at least a seven-figure prize pool. In the event, which follows a Championship Structure, players start with 20,000 chips and blinds begin at a scant 25-50, increasing every 20 minutes. Antes kick in at the start of Level 6, when blinds are 250-500. There is also a five minute breather after every hour of play.
PartyPoker’s Instant Play option offers a no-download alternative to playing on the popular site; all that is required is the most recent version of Java. The Instant Play software launches in a web browser and allows a maximum of four tables to be opened at a time, which makes serious multi-tabling problematic, but is ideal for more conventional players. Satellites to the Monthly Million start as low as $1 and an extensive qualifying schedule is in place. There’s no reason why every Mac poker player can’t have at least one chance to compete in this high-stakes monthly event.
The newest promotion announced by PartyPoker is the $1 Million Race, which started on May 1st and runs through the end of the month. The purse will be shared by 3,000 players, and the PartyPoker member at the top of the leader board at the end of the month will take home $20,000 in cash plus a $20,000 Elite prize package to the 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas. In fact, the top three players will nab WSOP Elite prize packages, while an additional 13 finalists will win $5,500 WSOP Experience getaways. These include a $1,500 buy-in to a WSOP preliminary tournament plus airfare and hotel accommodations for two. All told, PartyPoker Mac players may turn out in droves for the WSOP in 2009.
The top 3,000 PartyPoker players on the $1 Million Race leader board will finish in the money, with at least $20 going to every qualifying player. Tickets to WSOP qualifiers on PartyPoker will also be given out, making the $1 Million Race a truly lucrative affair for all Mac poker players.
