Performance Food Centers Expands Offering to Specialty Coffee, Espresso and Teas

Pottstown, PA, November 07, 2009 -- Performance Food Centers is excited to announce the launch of its newest division: Cafes by Performance Food Centers. Seeking to build on to success in supplying and consulting juice bars across the country with new concepts in marketing and nutritional education, Performance Food Centers looks to apply its one-stop-shop concept to the coffee bar industry while giving café entrepreneurs the tools to educate their customers in nutrition. Performance Food Centers believe that the key to their success to date can be attributed to their unique approach in providing provocative nutritional tips that John Q Public is most concerned with today. Adding to its already substantial base of experience, the company has hired specialty coffee industry veteran Debbie Dolan as Director of Specialty Coffee.

Ms. Dolan offers the type of coffee shop business experience that is an ideal fit for Performance Food Centers. With over 6 years of experience as a coffee bar owner, Debbie is experienced in all operational aspects, including starting a coffee shop, café design, coffee shop layout, coffee brewing, recipe development and marketing. After selling her business, Ms. Dolan expanded her skills by continuing her career in sales and marketing for a coffee distributor that also handled specialty beverages. There she combined her years of experience with a desire to help café owners through their journey of finding the right equipment and products for their businesses.

“My attraction to the specialty coffee and espresso business began 10 years ago as I observed its basic premise to bring people together” states Debbie. Her goal in joining PFC is provide a simplified approach in the selection of products, design, menu options, daily processes, and much more to those interested in either starting a coffee shop, or adding a specialty coffee and espresso program to their existing business.

Debbie Dolan will direct Cafes by Performance Food Centers, a new division, where her knowledge, experience and passion for Specialty Coffee and Espresso will help Performance Food Centers expand its coffee shop business. Ms. Dolan is especially excited about strengthening PFC’s partnership with the Allegro Coffee Company, a division of Whole Foods Markets. “We look forward to supplying PFC’s Juice Bar and Café clients with Allegro’s line of coffees and teas. Not only are they of the highest quality, but Allegro’s business philosophy of providing whole foods to people who care about their bodies is consistent with that of Performance Food Centers” says Debbie. “In addition to educating the café aficionados in the world of nutrition while providing awesome coffee, we also look forward to raising awareness in the health and café industry about organic, fair traded coffee.
