Sydney, Australia 7December 2009 – Understanding what Australians look for in a refrigerator, Samsung launched its unique SPACE technology in November 2008 providing more space for food inside without the larger footprint outside. Samsung’s SPACE technology works by cleverly rearranging the internals of the fridge to gain up at an extra 100 litres storage space without compromising on cooling performance.

Today, with the launch of the new refrigerator range, Samsung is expanding its existing SPACE range to include the new SPACE SRS691GDIS. The ultra-thin SPACE insulation technology means the SRS691GDIS can deliver 691 litres of storage inside a 600 litre footprint – allowing you to innovate in your kitchen rather than renovate. The redesigned in-door ice maker also saves valuable freezer space, providing more storage space to cater for everything on the grocery shopping list.

Building on the existing SBS range and providing customers with even more choice, five additional refrigerators are available to offer a multitude of functions for everyday life. Each includes Samsung’s Twin Cooling technology, providing independent cooling of the fridge and freezer to keep contents at the optimal temperature and humidity for freshness. The separate evaporators and fans also work to reduce odour transfer to keep food at its tastiest while the high energy efficiency rating helps reduce your electricity bills.

The new SBS refrigerator range also features Samsung’s Silver Nano Health System™. The anti-bacterial and anti-fungal effect of the Silver Nano Health System™ helps to control airborne bacteria and works towards keeping food fresher and healthier for longer.

In recognition that Australian consumers demand style and functionality, Samsung’s range also includes LED tower lighting that works to light the entire fridge for better visibility of its contents and hidden hinges for a more attractive appearance.
