New York, NY --- She goes by the name Ysan Roche; she has written dozens of songs that virally spread around the globe via the Internet. She has been a high-fashion model, a taxi driver, a messenger, an actress in movies and on stage, and a guest at some of the most exclusive parties in Paris, New York, Barcelona, London, Frankfurt, and Singapore. She founded t he Splendid Models agency in Berlin and created a new musical sound, which she calls Black Yellow Pop. She grew up in an assortment of European countries, has had several famous lovers, and was once engaged to an Italian count.

Her sound, her look, her lyrics have inspired several of today’s top singers. In fact, Ms. Roche says that one of today’s top stars has been using her material as an inspiration for her own performances. Yet, the general public does not know who she is.

And yet, and yet… they’re snapping up a sexually provocative poster of her on the Internet. Ysan Roche has sold thousands of copies of a poster named “Sold Out.” In it, she looks like a fashion model who has just thrown together an outrageous ensemble of punk lingerie, a wild rose-topped hat, a colorful Chinese fan, and a fine steel-mesh blouse. Her bare derriere has stamped on one cheek in bright red letters the message, “Sold Out.”

Ms. Roche says that she puts all of her songs and photos on her webpage, and her performances go on You Tube, where a steady following of fans download her performances, send her fan letters, ranging from the sensitive to the salacious, and communicate with her via her blog.

“I’ve become a celebrity to few thousand people who regularly write to me and want to buy my posters. I’ve sold a dozen different images, but the one that has generated a fire storm of demand is “Sold Out.” I’ve had to order many more copies so that I don’t fall behind the demand. It’s very strange: I feel as if I exist as a commodity on the Internet. I wonder if this is the future: becoming a sold out performer on the Internet.”

In addition to her popular posters, Ms. Roche’s music is downloaded by thousands of fans. She calls her music “black YELLlow pop”, from yelling and low. It is meant to describe a dark, yet intelligently philosophic view of life in a form of music that delves deeper than does normal pop music.

Ms. Roche stated: “My music never hurts or judges. I believe we should take responsibility for our own actions, and still be free to comment on the necessary responsibility of others. My music is emblematic of a new generation of women who are empowered to control their lives, to love and respect others.”
