"Food Corporation of India is one of the largest public sector undertakings company which deal with Food grains and supply management. Food Corporation of India was set up in 1964 under the Food corporation act for some objectives related to effective price support operations or safeguarding the interest of the workers and also distribution of grain and food all over the country for public distribution system. The Food Corporation of India is divided in different zones like FCI east zone, FCI west zone, FCI north zone and FCI south zone. The basic reason behind opening of these zones is to supply food grain in each and every city and also in all small or big villages so that each person can get food on time. Every zone of FCI is cover some important states like north zone is comprises of 8 regions i.e. Punjab, Haryana, UP, Rajasthan, J&K, HP, Delhi and Uttaranchal. It is one of the largest food corporation zones having man power of workforce of 24447 staffs and officers and 31634 labourers against 58104 staff & officers and 64173 labourers in FCI as a whole in the country. The main work of every FCI zone is to maintain satisfactory level of operational and buffer stocks of food grains to ensure national food security.
Every year FCI i.e. Food Corporation of India conduct recruitment examination in different zones of India. The Examination pattern of FCI recruitment 2012 consists of objective type questions.
