Remington College-Baton Rouge Campus Offers New Cosmetology Program

(SANEPR.com) June 2, 2009 -- Baton Rouge, LA – (June 2, 2009) - Remington College - Baton Rouge is now enrolling students for its new Cosmetology Diploma Program. The program curriculum includes training in the art, science and business of cosmetology.

The Cosmetology program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training in the "Remington College School of Cosmetology", which allows students to work with real clients.

Students are taught in a full-service, salon-like environment where they practice hair care and styling, nail care and artistry and makeup application. Students practice on mannequins, but also have the opportunity to practice their skills on real clients.

In addition to books, equipment and supplies, students in the Cosmetology Program will also receive a styling kit with a retail of value of more than $2000. The kit includes shears, combs, rollers, a flat iron and other styling essentials and is theirs to keep after graduation.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for personal appearance workers is expected to grow by 14% from 2006 to 2016, with some specialties seeing even more growth. Employment of manicurists and pedicurists is expected to grow 28% and the need for skin care specialists is expected to grow 34%.

The Remington College-Baton Rouge Campus offers several degree and diploma programs, including Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Computer and Network Administration, Medical Assisting, Medical Insurance and Coding and Pharmacy Technician.
