UK (SANEPR.com) April 23, 2008 -- The auction of Global Research and GEO Monitor represents an opportunity for the UK Financial community to directly contribute to the success of British Olympians in Beijing 2008. Companies will be invited to submit a bid for an annual license to each of IIR Group's flagship products, Global Research and GEO Monitor, which have regular subscription prices of US$90,000 and US$45,000 respectively.
Four-times Gold medalist rower Matt Pinsent CBE, Vice Chairman, British Olympic Appeal, BOA, commented: "We are absolutely delighted that IIR Plc has chosen to support the British Olympic Appeal through the offer of their two flagship products. The funds raised through this online auction will go a long way to help Team GB reach the starting line as best prepared as they possibly can be, ready to perform to the best of their ability."
Shane Smith, Chairman and CEO of IIR Group added: "The BOA receives no government or lottery funding, nor can it generate income through sponsorship, since the sponsorship rights are owned by London 2012. The BOA relies heavily on fundraising to ensure that Team GB athletes can properly prepare and focus solely on their performance and as a member of the BOA Appeal Council, we are proud to support The British Olympic Appeal, Beijing 2008."
In addition to subscriptions to IIR's market-leading independent equity research tools , the successful bidders will be invited to bring a party of eight to the Olympic Gold Ball on Wednesday 8th October. The event will be held at The Natural History Museum in London to welcome back Team GB's athletes from Beijing with a returning Olympian hosting each table at this prestigious dinner event.
Bidders are invited to submit a bid for one or both research products to events@boa.org.uk by 1st July 2008. Bidders will be contacted by telephone and invited to improve their bid until a highest bid is achieved. The reserve prices for Research Oracle and GEO Monitor are £45,000 and £20,000 respectively.
