Rotimi Rainwater set to helm "Truckstop"

USA (SANEPR.com) July 28, 2008 -- RACHEL MINER and MIMI ROGERS have signed on to star in the independent feature film, TRUCKSTOP. TRUCKSTOP is the story of Charles, a young man with cerebral palsy who befriends Vicki a troubled prostitute (MINER) while working at a local truck stop near the New Jersey shore. Through their friendship, they find the strength that each needs to confront their obstacles. ROGERS plays Charles’ best friend Peg, a 50-something waitress in the truck stop. TRUCKSTOP will be directed by ROTIMI RAINWATER who most recently shot the documentary feature “SP!T”. SUSAN WRIGHT will produce the film with ROTIMI RAINWATER in a co-production between THE CRITERION GROUP and VILLAGE ENTERTAINMENT. The script was penned by first time writer, TONY ALOUPIS, with revisions by RAINWATER & STEVEN GRABOWSKY. The material was found by RAINWATER on INKTIPPRO.COM. “It was amazing," says RAINWATER, "I’d never used the site before, but it was suggested by a writer friend of mine. So I went on and found this little gem of a story. No one believes I found it there." This is Grabowsky and Rainwater's second collaboration; first being the feature version of Rainwater's award winning, documentary SP!T. They are currently working on the bio-pic of educator Jack Bower titled, “LETTERS TO JACK”. The film’s financing is being handled by GRAHAM TAYLOR at ENDEAVOR INDEPENDENT, and plans on shooting in late September in New Jersey.
