New Delhi, India (SANEPR.com) December 24, 2007 -- 16th Sur Aradhana Awards’ 07 was organized by SUR ARADHANA COMMITTEE with Paigham-e-Mohabbat (a message of peace) a Ghazal Concert at Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi. The Ghazal Concert was graced by Ustad Ghulam Ali along with Peenaz Masani, Naim Ali, Shankar Sahney, Ashok Mastie and Arvinder. The chief guest for the occasion was Prof. Saifuddin Soz (Cabinet Minister for Water Resources) and Lamp Lighting was done by Shri Ajay Makan (Minister of State for Urban Development). Other distinguished guest at the event was Shri Shahnawaz Hussain (Member of Parliament), Shri Vijender Gupta (Chairman Standing Committee MCD), Dr. Nand Kishor Garg (Chairman M.A.I.T), Shri Sukhdev Singh (Director PACL India Ltd), Shri Pawan Sharma (Gen. Secretary, Delhi BJP) and Shri Mahmood Zia (Member MCD).
According to Vishal Sharma, Cultural Secretary, Sur Aradhana Committee, “16th Sur Aradhana Awards’ 07 organized to honor the artist from music industry like Ustad Ghulam Ali, Penaz Masani, Naim Ali etc. They all have shown a sincere effort in Music Industry.”
“Paigham-e-mohabbat (a message of peace) Ghazal Concert was organized to go a long way relationship towards Indo-Pakistan relationship” added by Shri Mohan Garg, Chairman, Sur Aradhana Committee.
Sur Aradhna Committee was established in 1971 by Shri R.S. Sharma to facilitate cultural and social events. The main aim of the committee is to encourage new talents and organize time to time cultural events to give chance new entrant in music industry. From last 25 years this Committee has organized multiple events like “Maa Tujhey Salam”, Ae Mere Watan”, “Lata Ji Ki Sureeli Latayen” etc., all these events was appreciated by everyone.
Other then all events SUR ARADHNA organized SUR ARADHNA AWARDS every year to give honor to different personalities from different fields. From last 25 years committee awarded personalities like Late Naushad Ji, Mohammed Rafi, Subhash Ghai, Rakesh Roshan, Usha Sharma, Nana Patekar, Madhuri Dixit, Suresh Wadekar, Kumar Shanu, Udit Narayan, Kavita Krishanmurti, Daler Mehndi etc.
