Hayward, CA (October 19, 2007)—For the 32nd year in a row Marine Corps marathoners will be running the streets of the nation’s capital, and for the first time ever SheRuns will be cheering from the sidelines. SheRuns is a fashion forward athletic apparel company who believe in celebrating women’s accomplishments. With more and more women running in marathons, their collection of sportswear separates, with key items that are trendy, sporty t-shirts with captivating, encouraging and motivating slogans like “She runs like a girl”, “She runs. He follows.”, “my race, my lane, my way” or “Mind over Miles” is sure to be a hit with the growing number of women runners participating in this years race. SheRuns’ collection will be for sale at the Health and Fitness Expo, from Thursday October 25th through Saturday October 27th at the DC Armory in Washington DC. The expo, which is free to the public, will feature over 200 vendors and exhibitions.

SheRuns began during the training and determination of running a half marathon by co-founders Brenda Wyatt and Nichelle Blackwell. Born and raised in the Bay Area, the designers began training for their first half marathon two years ago, and haven’t stopped running since. Blackwell noted, “When Brenda and I started training for our first marathon, we felt so inspired by the sense of community and camaraderie we experienced among all the women we trained with.” This experience propelled Wyatt and Blackwell to capture and recreate that feeling through SheRuns.

SheRuns is celebrating their one year anniversary this month. The festivities of the anniversary include the appearance of Wyatt and Blackwell at the 32nd Annual Marine Corps Marathon Expo, launching of an online blog to share all their experiences with the running community (sherunsonline.blogspot.com), and the addition of new items in their online boutique (sherunsonline.com).
