This festival of Dusshehra Celebrate the Victory of Good over evil, by giving back to society ~ Pun

The hotels have come together to combat the evils in the society; lack of education, poverty, lack of clothing and adequate day to day amenities, by giving and doing good. The 3 Hotels will be conducting various forums where they along with their customers can come together to give back to society.

Speaking at the onset of the Joy of Giving week celebrations Mr. Manish Tolani, Director Sales and Marketing- Pune Marriott Hotels said, “At Marriott we have always followed what is known as Marriott’s Spirit to Serve. We always try to give back to the society, the 3 hotels, Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre, Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre and Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi, with their joint participation in the various activities of the Joy of Giving Week, are looking forward to work towards creating better futures and opportunities for the general public at large.”

For every “Dish of the Day” sold at the 3 respective properties, the hotels will contribute 50% from the proceedings towards the Marriott Home, in Chennai. The Marriott Home shelters and educates 180 children of families affected by leprosy. In addition to this the Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre will on the 8th of October contribute Rs. 50 for every cheque printed in the F&B outlets towards Ishaprema Niketan and Aakansha Foundation.

The 3 hotels will also reach out to their guests and associates by conducting donation drives. The hotels will be having donation boxes throughout the week. Be it blankets, clothes or home essentials, no contribution is too small. Donations will go towards NGOs like Hope for the children foundation, Ishaprem Niketan- an old age home and Akanksha Foundation.

The 3 Marriott properties will also be giving back the one thing that India needs in order to combat all evils; the power of education. Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi will be donating stationary and basic means of study towards Ishwarkrupa NGO.In addition to this, The Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre will have a shadow activity wherein the students of a college will spend an entire day with the General Manager, Director of Finance and Director of Rooms of the hotel. Pune Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre will have a day dedicated to knowledge sharing, as they invite the children from Akanksha Foundation and have 2-3 associates from each department of the hotel share experiences with the children and expose them to different career options.

Apart from this, melas with NGOs like Akanksha Foundation, Navkshitij & Nirmalya will be conducted and proceeds from the same will go to the NGOs. The properties will also be hostings lunch spreads for the Matoshri Old Age Home inhabitants.

Courtyard by Marriott Pune City Centre will be hosting a ‘Kids Day Out ‘activity for the children of an orphanage called Nirankar Prasarak Mandal . The hotel will be inviting these children over and will be lining up a number of fun activities for them.
