US Retailers Pick up One in Five of the Top Online Retail Awards®

London, UK, December 29, 2009 -- Around the world there are web, net, e-retail, internet or online retailers (call them what you will) wearing smiles of satisfaction. They’ve won for themselves the aura of an Online Retail Award® – an ORA, for short - and, in the case of US retailers, the results speak for themselves: Shop.com, Carlow Cookery, Amtrak, PapyrusOnline, and Apple all pick up an ORA in celebration of the experience they provide for their customers online.

But that was 2009. As Marie Thomas, operations director, observes: “The 2009 results summarized a tumultuous 2008 for any retailer with an online presence. Indications are, that in spite of the recession, though, online retail sales will rise by 17% in 2010. The search is now on to find the new websites, the refreshed websites, the “great story” websites that offer customers the most enjoyable online experiences while they’re spending money.”

Judged impartially and independently, the Online Retail Awards® give credit to online retailers where credit is properly due for creating memorable, enjoyable online shopping experiences to delight customers.

The closing date for the 2010 Awards is February 28, so there’s still plenty of time to prepare entries. Entry is online and requires a PDF submission with a completed entry form.
