Vizual Stays One Step Ahead of the UKBA Tier 4 Regulations

Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, August 20, 2010 -- The Minister for Immigration, Damian Green, has announced a review of Tier 4 of the points based system following figures were released showing a further increase in the number of migrants coming to the UK each year on Student Visas. The Student Visa route has long concerned the Conservatives and the previous Labour Government. The announcement will undoubtedly lead to further tightening of the legislation surrounding Tier 4 of the Points Based System.

More than 203,000 immigrants were granted British citizenship last year, a 58% rise on the previous year and are worth over £8 billion to the economy.

Speaking on the subject of Tier 4, The Minister of State for Immigration, Damian Green said that “We are committed to attracting the brightest and the best to the United Kingdom, and welcome legitimate students coming here for study. However, in the past there has been significant abuse of the student route, and we need to ensure that every student who comes to the UK is genuine.”

“Therefore I am undertaking a thorough evaluation of the student system over the coming weeks and months and I will introduce new measures to minimise abuse and tighten the system further."

Additional legislation has already been put in place with Agents who find and place students now being monitored. Cliff Shaw, Student Attendance specialist with Vizual Management Solutions stated “Student Attendance Monitoring software now needs to have the ability to record against each student the agent who placed them.
