Zyme’s Tech Channel Index Reports US Consumer IT Sales Up Heading into the 2009 Holiday Season



REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Tech Channel Index, a new service from Zyme Solutions, reported today that sales of consumer IT and electronics products sold through US retailers since April 2009 has been steadily outperforming 2008 numbers. Year-to-date 2009 sales activity is up four percent over 2008, and the ‘back-to-school’ period of August and September 2009 was up seven percent over the same period in 2008.

Retail channel inventory, as of September 2009, ended about one week below the same period in 2008. For most of 2009, weeks of inventory have ranged one to three weeks below 2008 with 2009 inventory being above 2008 levels only for a brief period, just three times this year.
