boxedup announces successful completion of first round of angel investment

boxedup (www.boxedup.com), the UK-based internet shopping tool, has today announced the completion of its first round of angel investment and the appointment of its new board director, Toby Smallpiece.
Toby has joined the co-founders, Chris Osborne and Jeremy Baines to make up the boxedup board of directors. Following his investment, Toby will be specifically responsible for product monetisation and will also help to develop the site’s distribution activity, including partnerships with retailers, amongst others.
Toby’s background includes founding one of the first and largest Search Engine Marketing companies in the UK, Webgravity (founded 1999 and acquired by IBNet plc in 2001). He then went on to become CEO of AIM listed IBNet plc, which was later acquired by Deal Group Media plc.
Chris Osborne, co-founder and CEO of boxedup comments, “We’re pleased to have quickly closed this round of investment given the current climate.
